With a strong emphasis on strategy and business development, Berni is a dedicated business networker and leader in clinical research. She is an accomplished clinical trials operational manager and researcher, with over 30 years of global experience in the clinical trials field, primarily focusing on the Asia Pacific region for the last 21 years.
With a background as a pharmacist and a PhD in Microbiology, she has a robust academic research foundation. For the past eight years, she has served on the University Sunshine Coast Human Research Ethics, including a role as Deputy Chair, and has held board positions in various non-profit organizations.
Berni's expertise on governance and strategy for drug development, effectively connecting individuals and teams with the necessary expertise. has successfully spearheaded the development and implementation of innovative solutions, guided clients through groundbreaking technologies and processes, led educational initiatives, and directed research pathways for large pharmaceutical firms, clinical research organizations, and government entities.
Recently, she has focused on establishing regional single points of entry for clinical trials and implementing telehealth in conjunction with clinical trials in Queensland. Berni is passionate about ensuring that all patients have access new treatments and overseeing clinical trials in regional and remote Australian communities. To further this mission, she has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Aboriginal Studies.
